Get Straighter Teeth with Invisalign
Many adults want straighter teeth but don’t like the idea of wearing uncomfortable and unsightly metal braces. If this sounds like you, you’ll want to learn more about Invisalign clear aligners.
Benefits of Invisalign Clear Braces
Invisalign uses a series of clear, comfortable aligners to gently move teeth into their ideal position, often in less than a year. The aligners are removable, so they’re easy to keep clean and they provide flexibility and freedom, unlike traditional braces. Take the aligners out to eat meals, brush your teeth, or for special occasions. Put them back in to continue straightening. Dr. Mitchell will take a 3D image of your smile to create your Invisalign clear braces. You’ll visit our office every few weeks for a progress check and to pick up a new set of aligners. In less time than you thought possible, you can claim the straight, beautiful smile of your dreams.
Dental decay can strike a person of any age. If you experience tooth pain or pressure, you may have a cavity. Left untreated, the discomfort and damage will only get worse. Dr. Mitchell esthetically restores form and function to decayed dentition with tooth-colored composite resin fillings.
Dental Restoration Benefits
Because composite resin fillings are not made of metal, we can blend and mix shades to find the perfect color to match your natural teeth. This means that only you and Dr. Mitchell will know you have fillings. Another pro is that the tooth/composite bond actually supports the remaining tooth structure, deterring breakage and insulating against temperature changes. Medium and small composites can last seven to ten years – that’s as long as the tried and true amalgams. Best of all, composite resins allow us to keep more of your natural tooth structure intact than amalgams do. Our office believes in the power of conservative dentistry – the more natural tooth structure you keep, the better teeth you’ll likely have in the future!
At your checkup or new patient exam, Dr. Mitchell can check your existing fillings for wear and scan each of your teeth with our non-invasive DIAGNOdent laser. This modern tool identifies early stage decay before it can be seen or felt. If you need a new filling or want old metal ones replaced, Dr. Mitchell will tint a small amount of composite resin to match your existing smile. Then, he’ll bond the resin into your prepared cavity, restoring your tooth’s appearance and health. Your durable tooth-colored filling won’t warp or change shape, and it is impervious to decay, protecting your smile for years to come.
Cosmetic Dental Bonding can be an effective way to correct chipped, broken, discolored and misaligned teeth. In the more difficult cases, as shown here for example, matching a single front tooth that has unusual features such as white and/or dark transparent areas can be accomplished with dental bonding. There was no numbing or tooth reduction necessary in this case. In one-appointment bonding, Dr. Mitchell can apply a composite resin that’s been shaded to blend with your tooth’s color in order to rebuild a pleasing shape to your tooth. After hardening the resin with a curling light, he will artistically sculpt and polish the restoration. In just one visit, you can enjoy a beautiful new smile! Call 972-233-1311 to schedule your Complementary Consult with Dr. Mitchell to learn if Cosmetic Bonding is an option for you.
April is #OralCancerAwareness month…These areas should be self-checked regularly. If you develop a bump or sore that does not go away within 2 weeks, you should visit your dentist.

That’s why we decided to combine the things we love most into a Referral Rewards Program.
We are happy to announce that each time you refer a friend or a family member you each will receive a $50.00 credit. It is our way of saying Thank you for giving us the highest compliment a dental practice can receive.
Thank you for choosing the office of Dr. Robert Mitchell for your family’s dental care. Our entire team values the opportunity to give you the personalized attention and beautiful, healthy smile you deserve.
We’ll dedicate two hours for your new patient exam. When you arrive, we’ll give you a tour of our dental office and introduce you to our team. Refreshments are available for your enjoyment, as are Bose music headphones, movie goggles, massagers, and comfortable blankets, hot and cold neck pillows, and warm, scented towels.
We will talk to you about your dental needs and the reason for your visit. Then Dr. Mitchell will conduct a thorough exam which will include checking your bite alignment, assessing the integrity of existing dental work, and scanning your teeth for decay using our non-invasive DIAGNOdent laser. About 80% of the population unknowingly has some form of periodontal disease, so we will examine your gums for signs of this stealthy offender and suggest therapies for prevention or treatment. A set of digital X-rays will provide a complete picture of your oral health and aid in accurate diagnosis.
We will check your soft tissues for signs of oral cancer. We use a state-of-the-art tool called Velscope to identify suspicious lesions in the earliest stages. Oral cancer claims the lives of 7,500 Americans each year and often goes undetected until it has spread to the neck and lymph nodes. Early detection increases survival chances, so we will screen you for oral cancer at your new patient exam and subsequent checkups.
A recent poll by the AACD indicates that a beautiful smile can make you appear more attractive, confident, interesting, and intelligent. If your front teeth are less than ideal, we can help. Dr. Mitchell uses porcelain veneers to transform misshapen, stained, or damaged teeth.
Custom-made veneers completely cover teeth to alter their shape, size, and color. They reflect light like natural tooth enamel, so they look and feel completely natural. Veneers are a custom restoration, which means they’re individually created to give you a unique, vibrant smile.
It will take three visits to design and place your porcelain veneers. After your cosmetic dentistry consultation, Dr. Mitchell will remove a small amount of enamel from each tooth that’s going to be covered by a veneer. Then, he’ll take a dental impression and fit you with temporaries. A skilled ceramist at a trusted lab will make your custom veneers by hand. When your restorations are completed, Dr. Mitchell will remove the temporaries and permanently bond your porcelain veneers in place, transforming your smile and boosting your confidence.
